Ok, for some people the question I’m about to ask may seem glaringly obvious but I genuinely don’t know so I would really appreciate any help!

So exhibit A: http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/bags-accessories-1702216/hair-accessories-464/green-teardrop-stone-hair-clip-3159313?bi=1&ps=200

These kind of hair accessories are popping up all over the place and I think they’re beautiful but I wouldn’t wear it if I knew it would be an insult to anyone’s cultures *throws shade at white girls wearing bindis*. Anybody have any advice for me? I’d really appreciate it!

has there ever been one of those “sj is so bad!! tumblr is horrible!!” posts that aren’t just 10 screenshots in a row of fake posts made by anti-sj’s that other anti-sj’s thought were real because this is getting out of hand

yes there’s also the “dear tumblr, I am CIS, one time a trans said a thing to me and i was upset. why can’t i say slurs in peace? why can’t we all just be friends uwuwuwu” badly drawn comic variation

THIS IS WHAT A WORLD LEADER LOOKS LIKE.
DESMOND TUTU, I OFFICIALLY LOVE YOU.

"I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place," Archbishop Tutu said at the launch of the Free and Equal campaign in Cape Town.
"I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this."
Archbishop Tutu said the campaign against homophobia was similar to the campaign waged against racism in South Africa.
"I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid. For me, it is at the same level," he added.

Rape Culture? What is this “Rape Culture” you speak of?Seriously though, this is terrifying. God forbid I wear a skirt outside — I’m just ASKING   to be raped if I do that.

The 58% statistic actually terrifies me more than any other. Suddenly change the word and you don’t care?
No one will ever be able to convince me that words hold no power.

this makes me sick to my stomach with anger and fear

I’m waiting for to see: “It’s only 83.5%, not all men are like that”

Wait, so only 16.5% of men know that rape is wrong and that no one ever deserves to be raped?
THAT is terrifying.
Jesus H. Christ

What’s terrifying is that the actual percentages are likely much higher as there are likely a large number of men who would rape if the thought they would get away with it, but chose to lie on the survey.
